Come and enjoy the rugged beauty and tranquillity of Mount Ceder on horseback. We offer 1hour or two hour rides for all levels of ability and a full day ride for intermediate and experienced riders.
Enjoy riding through the olive groves, past old farm ruins and visit Khoi/San paintings.
Ride on strong Boerperd/cross horses in the comfort of Leon Liversage’s Trails Rider saddles whilst enjoying the scenery; with a chance to see good bird-life and some of the elusive wildlife found in these mountains.
It is important to remember that rides must be pre-booked and that there is a maximum weight of 100kg. Children - no children under 10 years old unless experienced riders. Children must be able to control their horse themselves.
New: Day horse –rides. Go explore a beautiful valley, see bushmanpaintings, visit an old farmhouse ruin and have a swim at the waterfall or river when the weather is hot. Day-rides include snacks and drinks.

Rules applicable when Horse Riding
- Riding is done at own risk and use of helmets is strictlry advised.
- Number of riders on any given ride depends on their riding ability and the number of horses available.
- Cancellation of rides must be done by at least an hour before the arranged time. If this is not done, 50% of the cost of the ride will be charged.
- No person exceeding 100kg in weight will be allowed to ride.
- No person under 10 years old may ride unless they are capable riders.
- Only one rider per horse.
- No refunds will be made on rides due to horses not co-operating.
- No racing of horses will be tolerated.
- No shouting or unnecessary noise will be permitted in the vicinity of the horses.
- No smoking on any horse will be tolerated.
- All saddlery is to be taken care of and riders will be responsible for any damages to equipment and any maltreatment to horses that may occur during the ride.
- Riders are required to obey the rules of the guides.
- Mount Ceder will not be held responsible for any injuries on the horse rides.
Please Note:
For a six week period in May/June, the horses will be having
their "African Horse Sickness" innoculations. As a result
there will be times where there will no riding or only quiet riding
during this time. |
