Horse riding at Mount Ceder

Why not enjoy the rugged beauty and tranquility of Mount Ceder on horseback? We offer 1 hour or two hour rides for all levels of ability and a half day ride for intermediate and experienced riders. Cederberg horse-riding at it's best.

Enjoy riding through the olive groves, past old farm ruins and visit Khoi/San paintings. Ride on strong Boerperd/cross horses in the comfort of Leon Liversage’s Trails Rider saddles whilst enjoying the scenery; with a chance to see good bird-life and some of the elusive wildlife found in these mountains.

It is important to remember that rides must be pre-booked and that there is a maximum weight of 100kg. No children under 10 years old unless they are experienced riders. Children must be able to control their horse themselves.

Half-day rides (closed until further notice)
  • Go explore a beautiful valley, see bushman paintings, visit an old farmhouse ruin and have a swim at the waterfall or river when the weather is hot. Day-rides include snacks and drinks.
  • Please inquire with reception for further information or contact Rachelle - click here

Please Note: For a six week period in May/June, the horses will be having their "African Horse Sickness" innoculations. As a result there will be times where there will no riding or only quiet riding during this time.

Please double check the horse-riding in advance as it is not always available due to the fact that it is run by one person only.
